Martin G. Schuneman

Martin Gerretsen Schuneman (February 10, 1764 - February 21, 1827) was a United States Representative from New York.

Born in Catskill, he was educated by his father and in 1792 was justice of the peace of Albany County. He engaged in mercantile pursuits and owned an inn at Madison.

He was supervisor for Catskill in Albany and Greene Counties in 1797, 1799, and 1802 and was a member of the New York State Assembly from Ulster County from 1798 to 1800 and from Greene County in 1803.

He was a delegate from Greene County to the State constitutional convention in 1801, and was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Ninth Congress, holding office from March 4, 1805 to March 3, 1807. He resumed his former business pursuits and in 1827 died in Catskill; interment was in the Old Cemetery, Madison.
